Mission Statement

We, the youth of the Great Rivers Region and children of God, unite in community with each other to form the Regional Youth Board.

The purpose of this board will be to plan and lead a yearly gathering/conference of youth to be held in the first full weekend of November


Job Descriptions

President: Prepares agenda for meetings, leads planning meetings, insures that board members complete tasks, maintains an on-going dialogue with advisors and attends other regional meetings as needed.

Vice President: Performs the job of the president should he/she not be able to attend a meeting as well as assist the president in keeping the board on track.

Secretary: Keeps detailed notes of meetings, distributes minutes to board members, responds to correspondence and keeps all written records.

Editor: Prepares promotional materials for event, maintains website, and sees that mailings take place with appropriate material.

General Board Members: Represent the interests of the youth in the region, participates in planning meetings for the event, interprets program to peers, and helps carry out responsibilities.

Associate Advisors: Help provide supervision at meetings, lend assistance to adult advisors and the board when needed, and also help to select board members.

Adult Advisors: Select board members that supervise meetings, lend assistance where and when it is needed, bring support and guidance to the youth, help with the planning process, sign contracts, legal documents needed for the event, and interpret program to adults, and also serve as the selection committee.

Regional Staff Representative: Provides assistance to advisors on regional policies and procedures. In addition, helps to recruit advisors and select board members.
